WHat kind of tree do I have?

I received a gift form a friend. I was not told what type of plant this is only that it can be up to 15 yrs old. Can you help me find out what type this is and how do I take care of it. It's my first time.

From the looks of the photo you have yourself a Ficus. these are an indoor and outdoor species that are easy to grow.
